Agent-Based Infrastructure for Management of Consumer-Focused Smart Companies

Smart Company is a temporal cooperation of independent knowledge-source units (enterprises, institutions or individuals) which provide a service on the basis of shared skills, information technologies and resources. To achieve common interface within and between various components at various levels of hierarchy, a multiagent infrastructure for the information support of SmC management is proposed. It consists of a number of problem domain specific and system management agents. Member advisor agent for each member of the SmC and Group advisor agent are agents from the application domain. To integrate them into a multiagent system, an agent platform was developed based on the DCOM model and FIPA reference model and communication language. This platform consists of the following components: Directory Facilitator, Agent Management System, Agent Communication Channel, Ontology Management Agent, and Wrapper Agents. Different types of SmC are under consideration for the case studies from the automobile and textile industries.
